Food quality and regional origin are more important today than ever before. Traditionally produced meat products have always been synonymous with excellent quality. As part of IFFA – Technology for Meat and Alternative Proteins, the world’s best meat products will be awarded by the German Butchers’ Association (Deutscher Fleischer-Verband – DFV). Under the name IFFA DFV Global Meat Product Awards, the DFV judges the quality of traditional products in a series of regional competitions in North America, Southeast Asia, Australia and Japan.
For the first time, the IFFA DFV Global Meat Product Awards Southeast Asia will be held together with local partner Food Process Technology (FTP) during Meat Pro Asia (12 to 14 March 2025) in Bangkok on 12 and 13 March 2025 in Hall 1. Here, up to 300 products from the ASEAN region, including Brunei, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, will be judged by an eight-member jury on quality under a professional evaluation system. The jury is composed of independent and trained test experts who work as highly qualified food experts and are provided by the DFV. Sausages and hams are tested – with everything except raw products being allowed to be submitted from these categories. The test criteria include appearance, consistency, smell and taste – products with top marks in quality and the diversity of craftmanship will be honoured on 13 March 2025. Entitled to participate are meat businesses from Thailand and abroad that offer products from their own production.
The award winners are invited to visit the world’s leading trade fair IFFA in Frankfurt from 3 to 8 May 2025 to attend the World Award. This is an opportunity to network internationally and exchange ideas on the production of (inter)national products.
